NYC bus route planner
Use the bus when it gets you there faster.
Some New York trips need more than a subway line. BoroWay compares scheduled bus, subway and walking combinations and selects the shortest expected door-to-door travel time by default.
Compare the complete trip
BoroWay measures the route from your real starting place to your destination, including every walk, bus ride, subway ride and transfer—not only time spent on a train.
See the exact bus leg
Bus routes, boarding instructions, direction, transfer steps and expected arrival stay together in one itinerary instead of sending you between separate tools.
Follow one navigation map
The iPhone app keeps the complete path, large next-step guidance, spoken instructions, transfer reminders and a get-ready-to-exit alert in one live trip.
Keep accessibility honest
When step-free routing is selected, BoroWay uses its verified subway accessibility path rather than claiming an unverified bus or station connection is step-free.
Rider questions
NYC transit questions, answered clearly.
Does BoroWay include NYC buses?
Yes. For address-to-address trips, BoroWay can include scheduled NYC bus legs together with walking and subway directions when that creates the fastest expected route.
Does BoroWay always choose a bus?
No. The default planner compares available transit combinations and selects the shortest expected door-to-door arrival. A bus appears only when it improves or completes the trip.
Are bus times live?
Bus legs use current scheduled transit routing. Train arrivals and subway service conditions use official-source live feeds. Conditions can change, so always follow posted notices and operator instructions.
Can I choose fewer transfers?
Yes. BoroWay Pro includes a fewer-transfer preference for riders who would rather make a simpler trip than save every possible minute.
